How to make a control on a report invisible (Access 2000)

How to make a control on a report invisible

I have three controls on the report, called cartons, quantity and price.Sometimes i multiply cartons and price, sometimes quantity
and price. In the lasrt case the field cartons is not used,it has a 0 value and i want that this field is not seen on the report,to be invisible.
When i calculate Quantity and price, i have put the following code in the OnOpen event of the report"

    If Me![cartons].Value = 0 Then
    Me![cartons].Visible = False
    End If

However trying to open the report, i receive the following message :

You entered an expression that has no value.

    Can somebody help me ?

Instead of the OnOpen event, put it in the OnFormat event of the Detail section.

Remember to also set the Visible property for the label (if there is one).
