Failed security updates
Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 8.1 for x64-based Systems (KB2977629)
Installation date: 11/14/2099 12:42 PM
For the last couple of weeks all windows updates have failed. The information from one of the failures is posted below. The odd thing on all of the failed updates is the date of the attempt at installation. It is showing up with the correct month and day, but the year is listed as 2099. I looked back at all of the previous failures which were few and far between and the date of failure is normal with the correct year. Has anybody else run into this problem?
Here are the details of one of the latest failures. One link on the details page just opens the windows update troubleshooter which does it's thing and the updates still fail. The web link takes you to the page about the update but does not provide any help about why it would fail.
Installation status: Failed
Error details: Code 80200001
Update type: Important

Help and Support:
Problem is resolved. Had to delete the update history file to eliminate the unsuccessful updates with the wrong date from the list. Just deleted the log entirely. All the updates that have been installed can still be seen by checking the installed updates.

Check the date & time settings in your computer's UEFI (or BIOS).
See this thread: New Update [KB3000850].
It would appear there is a problem in Win8.1 with date/time.Computer Consultant/Technician since 1998 (first PC was Atari 1040STE in 1988).
Most common computing error is EBKAC: Error Between Keyboard And Chairback
