    Homegroup computer not allowing access

Both computers running Win 8.1 Pro SP1 x64.
My machine sees the other computer and lists the shared folders.
When I click on the folder, an error comes up saying the folder is not accessible. I do not have permission to use the network resource. Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested log on type at this computer.

I have left the Homegroup as did the other machine. Upon rejoining both computers have the same password, the same problem happens.
The other machine can see my computer and open any of the shared folders, no problems.
I have gone and checked the settings in gpedit.msc as well as checked all of the settings that I know, Group policy, allowed logon, etc. on the other machine and come up empty.
    The error keeps coming up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think you may have set up sharing on the other computer manually and these settings are taking precedence. Check and remove all sharing on folders and then rejoin the homegroup.

    cheers, Paul

    Done that twice.
    Same result.
I have to mention that when I installed The OS both machines worked perfectly.
Only in the last little while did this problem come up.
I wish I could remember when it occurred, but I do not.
