    Sequencing of Events (any)

    Hi All,

It's been a long time since I've been on the Access board. Apologies if it's been asked and answered - just point me there.

Is there a good explanation of the definition and sequencing of events associated with Access objects (forms, reports, controls). I saw some stuff in the 97 Help but got dizzy trying to sort it all out.

    Thanks.

    Fred

This may be what you are reffering to in your post ......

The only thing I know of is the information in Access help file if you search for "order of events". This pretty much expains all events and in what order they trigger.

Sorry if this does not give you anymore information than you already know.

    Ricky,

Thks for the response. Yep, I was referring to exactly that topic in Help in my post. As stated, that gone of got me a bit dizzy when I looked at it. It helped a little but not as much as I needed. I was hoping for something else.

Maybe Access 2000 help is better. I'll have to check when I get to work (have 97 here).

    Right about that - 2002 is a little better, but . . .

Most books seem to refer you to the Online Help for Access, but there is a sample database that shipped with Access97 called Orders.MDB that shows you the order of events in a different way. You might find that useful.
