    Issue Typing when Posting

In my last post, I talk about a problem I currently have with IE so I have switched to Chrome at least for now. What I find in a number of forums that when using Chrome, sentences do not space properly and the first line of the post overlaps completely with the second. I have to preview the post to ensure everything is correct and then editing what I have typed is similarly difficult.

In other forums, I have been able to solve this issue by changing my settings to use the WSYWYG editor option but in the lounge there is only Standard and Basic so I cannot seem to avoid the issue here.

The WYSIWYG option is also next to the "Remove Format" button in other places I visit.

Is WYSIWYG available somewhere in the lounge and i am missing it or is there something I can do in Chrome to overcome this?

I attached a photo to better describe my issue.

    Thx,

    Phil

I use Firefox and don't have that issue. Can't comment on Chrome, apart from suspecting an installation issue - try a re-install.

There used to be a WYSIWYG message editor setting for the Lounge but it didn't work right in Windows 8 as I recall, so this option was removed. It has never been fixed to my knowledge. I'm using Chrome to create this post and I don't have your issue. You might want to check for any Chrome add ons.

+1 for a reinstall, my version of Chrome doesn't have that problem. Using it reminds me I much prefer FF

I use Chrome just for everything, from normal browsing to web development and it works fine on the Lounge.

So, is Chrome up to date? What OS are you using?

It should be. I'm using Win 7 Home Premium. I have encountered the same issues in other forums using Chrome and was able to overcome them by switching to WYSIWYG but since that isn't an option here, I'm a bit stuck.

There is a Chrome Add-on called IE tab which allows the tab to be rendered like an IE tab and that also works but it's a bit of a resource hog and requires a second login to the page. I used to use FF on my older computers but found that it had memory leaks so I decided to stay away. I chose Chrome because of the Chromecast and other useful features.

I'm guessing that my issue is probably video card-related if others using Chrome don't have this problem. My video card is an NVidia. If WYSIWYG was removed because of Win 8, can't it still be an option for the rest of us? It seems to me that if I had Win 8, tried it, and had a problem, I would simply switch back to Standard. Right now, there is no option for me.

I have re-enabled WYSIWYG in full editor mode. I can't promise that we will keep it like this, it really depends on how it affects other members as well. By allowing it only in Advanced mode I am expecting it to minimize issues, but I won't know until we get feedback from other members.

Thanks very much. It works perfectly for me in advanced mode.

Since the editor gets selected by the user in general settings, I would hope it should not be an issue for 99.9% of the users.

Thx again - I really appreciate it.

Yes, you would expect so, but with such a huge user base, some members may need help configuring the editor. We'll see how it goes.
