    Inserting images query

I'm trying to put some Saved jpeg images from a webpage tutorial into either WordPerfect
or WordPad. The trouble is that the original images are just a few Kb but, upon transferring,
they seem to get changed into another format (Bitmap?), and the resultant document/s weigh
    in at several MegaBytes.

Is there another way of doing it to keep the file size low?

Sorry for the typo error in the title, which should have read as 'Inserting'.

I Googled around and found out a solution from:

    http://www.wpuniverse.com/vb/showthr...o-Word-Perfect

The way is to insert the image as a link (Image on Disk), rather than the image itself.
This method creates a viewable thumbnail (in WordPerfect) of the Disk image.
A jpg at 5Mb was reduced to a few Kb in the saved document.

I then did a normal insertion of a 5Mb photo; even at a reduced thumbnail size the saved file came out at 34Mb!!
