    Logging In with KeePass

Has anyone else tried to login to this site with Keepass2?

I can't get it to work, and I can't figure out why.

I use Keepass's auto-type feature to log in to lots of websites. It appears like it should work for this site too.

My auto-type sequence correctly puts the username into its box, and the password into its box ... and then this site replies back with login failure screen.

The thing is, if I copy and paste the password for this site from inside Keepass, it works just fine.

So I'm wondering if the site has some feature/bug that pads an auto-typed password with nonsense characters.

    Any ideas anyone?

Works perfectly for me - I just tried it.
Have you changed the default Auto-Type sequence for this KeePass entry?
Exactly how are you using Auto-Type?
    What version of KeePass?

    cheers, Paul

    Currently I use:

    {TAB}{TAB}{TAB}{USERNAME}{TAB}{PASSWORD}

    for my auto-type inside Keypass2.

I can (and have) added variations on other stuff like {ENTER} after that, but nothing seems to work.

The thing that I notice is that my 10 character password in Keypass2 gets padded out to 11 characters in the text box on this sites login page.

I use the default Auto-Type, but I place the cursor in the Username box first, as is recommended practice for KeePass.

I use Firefox and all is well.
Have you tried the KeePass test page to see if it happen all the time in the browser?

Thanks for your help Paul T.

I'm ready to call this thread closed.

I do not have a solution for Firefox. But, I was able to set a URL-Override inside Keepass2 for this site, and get it to work flawlessly for Chrome.

Ideally I'd like a better solution, but if it's only this site, I can do with this workaround.

Do you have lots of plug-ins? Try disabling them.

    cheers, Paul

    SOLVED.

The problem was the saved username in Firefox (removable through Tools > Options > Security > Saved Passwords).

Even though KeePass2 was overtyping the saved username (as far as I could see on the screen) it was still somehow interfering with the log in process. Delete the saved username (and password) inside Firefox and it worked fine.
