    Lightbulb Seek Spelled S-e-a-r-c-h

Something happened to come to mind, why doesn't matter... anyway, decided to share it, to mention it... not sure how much it's used, sometimes.

A lot in the Forums speaks to finding things, accessing things, functions & or data, navigating, drilling down. Point being, one can Pin things to Start & or Taskbar. W/ Windows 10 that can, also, be to a Start menu, including, optional, Live Tiles. Will put this such that it can be applied to both 8.1 and 10, as well as pre-8.1

This goes for both a machine and the Net...

"Seek & ye shall find" IT translation, Search & find. It's quick, easy, efficient & effective.... use Search.

Sure have whatever Tile or icon on Desktop & Pinned to wherever BUT, whenever one wants something (data or other) and that includes doing something (a check, a tool, a function) in 8.1 > Start screen or ALL Applications screen (hit Win key) and begin typing for whatever you have in mind... up it comes before one can finish typing. In 7 and 10 , (hit Win key) and begin typing, same deal... up comes whatever you needed. Still, simply using Search or Search box.
Usually can't finish writing whatever... couple of characters & it has well gone to work... it's quicker than you

Saves SO much time, effort & thought and UI & OS not @ the heart of the matter as Search is across the board. Let the machine grab it or take you. Just give it your thought. Lessens where & how. Keywords, phrases, both work. For CP items, too... path to cmd, for example... just write 'it' into the Search box or on those screens in 8.1

No worries, just a passing thought; might save a lot of 'grief', maybe... always subjective. Try it, for a bit, maybe, if you're not accustomed to it, already.

    Cheers,
    Drew

    Drew,

I hear what you're saying re the search facility in recent versions of Windows.

But stop for a while and consider how much effort has been put in to making that facility work as well as it does. Seriously, it has to be one of the best things that has ever been developed for Windows.

    Seek Spelt S-e-a-r-c-h

I'm still trying to figure out what "Spelt" has to do with this?

Or maybe it is some sort of "brain" food?

Everyone else seems to have "figured it out" but, would you maybe, be struggling less w/ 'spelled'?
