    Shortcut keys (Excel 97)

    I'd like to change the shortcut key ctrl shift # from the date format it imposes on a cell to a different one. Is this possible? My goal would be either mm/dd/yy hh:mm A/PM or just mm/dd/yy.

    I always advocate to leave the defaults alone and make your own macro/button combo thing.

    Here is a macro that would do the work for you:

    Sub StampDate()
    With ActiveCell
    .Formula = "=Now()"
    Calculate
    .NumberFormat = "m/d/yyyy h:mm AM/PM"
    .Copy
    .PasteSpecial Paste:=xlValues
    End With
    Application.DataEntryMode = False
    End Sub

    Place this code in your Personal.xls and add a button to your toolbar to activate or better yet make a shortcut key of your own for it.
