Lightbulb Tip: New in 9926 & Handy

It's handy (now) easily being able to plop things into Home (Quick Access)

Rt Clk menus have Pin to Quick Access.

You have that little house sitting on the Taskbar and it does offer rapid convenience... reminds a bit of Quick Launch. You'll date yourself if you remember QL. And, of course, you can made the window whatever size & pick View, for the Contents, to suit (you).

Can, even, put Desktop & This PC in there, or whatever, making for one-stop-shopping, a wee hub - just go in the house for lots of stuff.

Also make for less Pinned to Start & or Taskbar.

NB: All based on no Desktop icons showing on the Desktop, although, that is, certainly, not required. The above, still, valid, even if, Desktop icons are showing, of course.

    Anyway, just a thought...

    Cheers,
    Drew

I have no idea what you are talking about. There is no "house" on my toolbar and right clicking on none of my shortcuts have a "pin to Quick Access" option. Did you do something to enable this feature?

Is this what you are trying to describe?:

Yes, Jerry. Aside from you sounding patronizing, yes. That's what I was "trying" to address... seems I did.... you had it pegged.

    And this, I mentioned:
navigate the local file structure, right click on a folder and choose "Pin to Quick Access."
Rt Clk on shortcuts... they do not have it.

It has a House icon. I may have placed it on the Taskbar.

No, I did nothing special. Pinning ability is part of 9926. (and terminology changes)

    Cheers,
    Drew

I'm sorry but your description had nothing to do with the link I provided
    - no reference to File manager
    - no relation to the Task Bar

I didn't get anything out of your description. I found the link via a Google search foe Windows 10 Quick Access. You would be better served in the future by posting links to where you found the information to give the author credit and not try to put it in your own words.

Ok, while you're sounding snooty... there is/was nothing to quote or site except...

Absorbing info from the Windows 10 Briefing & MY using the OS. So, I'll cite & quote myself. That do you. Quit trying to give me grief!

Yeah, you're sorry, alright. And there isn't a darn thing wrong w/ what I'd written. Supported by the fact that you're the only person carrying on @ me w/ this stuff. Where others & in other Tech Forums, just say thanks. So spare me, whatever you're up to, knock it off, please. And you giving me trouble in 2 Forums doesn't count.

    Be a nice adult.

    Cheers,
    Drew

    Ouch...

I'm getting increasingly concerned about some of the outspoken/aggressive/(quite frankly) rude posts here on WSL in the last few weeks. In my opinion these sorts of disagreements - if they are necessary - should be taken offline, i.e. via private messages. I sure don't want to see them here in the public domain...

This is what threw me off and made me think you were trying to describe some new feature for the Windows 10 Task Bar rather than File Manager. You should have said File Manger search box.

Thanks, D/Ling as we speak. I was a little uncertain but it did say 9926.iso. That was what I wanted.

    Helps a lot ! Jean.

Edit: Rick, I installed 9926 on this old warrior and I am on it now but not for long, it will get W-7 back. The CPU cum graphic card on it are not up to the task. Intel 1.87 with 3 GHz of RAM, why do I not give it a rest ?

Thank you for the .iso URL, I have it on a small 25 GBs SSD, USB connectible. Might come in handy for another machine. Nic e to have all the on-line help here.

    Good evening mate. Jean.
