    Nice one!

BTW... re: the Revamped clock and calendar, you have to set the newly-created DWORD value to 1 (or delete the new key) to get the Standard clock back to where you can adjust the time and date.

Rick, to what or which or where is this clock/calendar issue you mention, please? The Store APP Clock? Something other than the separate Clock & Calendar Store APPs?

It's ok, found info about this

I have not tried grabbing the new one (yet). Are you saying it shows the right time & date, by default but, then that cannot be altered? Does it lose additional clocks, also?

    Cheers,
    Drew

Hi Drew... it's the Standard clock far right of the Notification Area. The article RG referenced shows on slide 3 a way of revamping it by making a registry edit. Unfortunately you lose the ability to click on a link (in the Standard clock) to Change date and time settings....

    Hope this helps...

Yeah well, certainly, something that can be needed on occasion. Strange function to lose, that's for sure. Does it, still, have the ability to show additional clocks, for other time zones? The Standard allows for 3.

Does it, still, allow to pick how the time & date is formatted (on the sys tray)?

    Cheers,
    Drew

Sorry but I don't know. I changed back to the Standard clock as soon as I realised that the Revamped clock had no additional benefit(s) (for me at least).

Ok, thanks. Did you, already, them Feedback that function & missing? Having seen the picture, the new thing is pretty but, certainly, don't to grab everything & anything, arbitrarily. Nor should it be necessary to use reg tweaks... give them more time to get past that. As my cousin tells me, many things a done (built) but, they are still working on the shell related work for everything to be 'right'.

Although, I will try the bit for Spartan Edge.

There sure is some interesting points in the article. Most were covered @ The Briefing & some, already, known but, some cool new info, too.

Glad of the enhancements to cmd & Power Shell.

And I'm glad to know how to move things to other Desktops.

    Cheers,
    Drew

No, I haven't. It seems fairly obvious (to me anyway) that the revamped clock is missing functionality (inasmuch that the registry edit changes it into a big calendar, nothing more) and I suspect that - following the article - Microsoft may be inundated with Feedback about it.

    Good article, thanks.

Looks like they're offering a lot of options for how you want the initial interface to look and function. Lesson well learned, hopefully.

If the virtual desktops work well, I'll upgrade from Win7 for that alone.

Ok, 'RG' ( you can see I've forgotten your name, sorry). Thanks. Did seem like an odd thing to be missing. And, can it, still, do Additional Clocks? If so, I'll try it.

    Cheers,

    Mike,

The multiple Desktops works great! I have used it from the onset & really, like it. Terrific ( I think) for workflow, being organized and uncluttered.

Rick, pretty sure how you meant that, so not being picky... just to clarify, Rt Clk we've always had & that's the same time/date menu as ever, too. But, yes, Rt Clk will discover heaps of things, 10 & pre-10. In Store APPs it populates all their respective tools.

    Cheers,
    Drew
