    Code to disable offlb.exe

I see in task manager numerous, up to 5 of offlb.exe

From searching Google, I suppose they are right in trying to direct to finding the cause.
But I can't get to the cause if the computer keeps slowing down and at times freezing things to a halt.

How then do I disable this offlb.exe using VBA or disable it all together ?

    Thanks

"The Office Lifeboat (OffLB.exe) is what launches when one of the Office apps appears to be hung".
If you have 5 copies running you either have a problem with Office or you have malware masquerading as OffLB.exe.
Do the processes start before you run any Office apps?
Do the processes run after a re-boot?
Have you tried a repair of Office?
Have you run a malware scan?
Can you kill the processes using Task Manager?

    cheers, Paul

No, don't have 5 copies of Office running
No, don't have malware, anti-virus up to date.

Do the processes start before you run any Office apps?
    No.

Do the processes run after a re-boot?
    No

Have you tried a repair of Office?
Nothing wrong with Office, works fine, all other Office Applications work perfectly well.

Have you run a malware scan?
My AVtakes care of everything and my browser is not IE or firefox, it's not chrome, but based on chrome.
It is a secure browser, one of the best in my opinion.

Can you kill the processes using Task Manager?
That's why I posted the question if there is VBA to "turn it off"
My process "hung" ( Dynamic Web query within a Do Until Loop )
It would not "kill" at task manager level, even when I stopped the process.

The one thing I discovered was to rename the workbook, seemed to have fixed it, but it's been only a day since, so I don't know it it will happen again.

I hope this has answered your questions,

can you answer my original question?

Is there a VBA code to disable offlb.exe ?

    Thanks

I think that it would be fruitless if you attempted to run VBA code when your computer is at a halt especially with the nature of why this file should be running in the first place... the Office app has malfunctioned. You might try renaming it to offlb_org.exe to see if that helps. I certainly would not delete it and not change the .exe extension.

    Maud

Ok, I'll run the process over the next few days and see what happens.

I know my VBA processeing is rather large.
I am thinking along the lines that nothing is wrong except a preset load limit, so it "thinks" something is wrong, therefore activating the offlb.exe, ( it's been renamed btw )

    See how it goes...,
