    Menu bar disappeared

I am using IE 11, and for some unknown reason the menu bar disappeared today. Now when I open a web page to close it I have to right click an empty space and then click "back" before the red X appears. Also the web page covers every inch of the screen, so that I cannot get to the "show desktop" space, for example.

Please advise how I can get the menu bar back, and get web pages to revert to their normal maximized size.

    Thanks and regards, Roy

What happens if you press <Alt>?

If that works, right-click the tab bar, then Menu bar.

Edit: You may have it in full-screen mode. Try pressing F11.

Have you also tried pressing CTRL+0 or toggling F11 ?

Click on Tools (the cogwheel icon) and on Zoom and try reducing the zoom setting to 100% if its set higher.

Before seeing any of the replies I opened and closed IE a few times, and web pages went back to normal size and the menu bar reappeared. Nevertheless, thanks for the advice.

If you have altered the Zoom level then pressing CTL+0 will default it to 100% and you can toggle between full screen and one with the top and bottom bars by pressing F11 - give it a try.
