Gmail in Outlook 2010 not working
Ok, I found the solution. It's located at https://www.google.com/settings/security/lesssecureapps
I had to turn on access for less secure apps!
Google considers Outlook 2010 a less secure app? Since when? What does this mean to my overall security settings?
Anyone with any help here would be greatly appreciated.
I went back to a pre-Outlook setup, and re-installed Office from scratch.
I set up one POP account in Outlook, just to gain access to the program screens.
I set up my GMail account -- again -- using the same login info that works for GMail online
Outlook refuses to log it in
The settings I am using (and have since forever ago) are
imap.gmail.com 993 SSL
smtp.gmail.com 587 TLS
What the heck can I be doing wrong here?????
I have used Gmail through Outlook for years...today it decided to not work.
I changed my Gmail password (security issues), and I log in online fine. I changed the password in Outlook, and the server keeps rejecting it.
I deleted the Gmail account, rebooted, and set it up again...no help. Outlook keeps telling me that the connection to the server was interrupted.
I have another GMail account in Outlook that is working fine.
What could be wrong here, and how can I fix it?
