    Fields with If..then logic

    Hi,

    I'm new to setting up fields in MS Word and I'm trying to set it up to do the following:

    If field A = 100, field B should equal a value from a pre-set list.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    See the IF field in Word. You can check it out in Word's help as well.

    { IF { REF Abookmark } = 100 "value from preset list" "A is not equal to 100" }

    "Abookmark" is the name of a Word bookmark around Field A.

    A field can't output something "from a pre-set list" - it can only output what it is specifically coded to do. In this case, if the only criterion is that A=100, B can only be a single hard-coded value.

    To see how to do a wide range of calculations in Word using field coding, check out my Microsoft Word Field Maths Tutorial (http://windowssecrets.com/forums/sho...Maths-Tutorial) - it's a Sticky thread at the top of this forum.
