Embed len() into Vlookup (or other option)

Hi Loungers - I am using this vlookup that works as it should =IF($C7="","",VLOOKUP($B7,'CS Incident Inport'!$A$11:$Z$500,14,TRUE)).

However the data on '14' is long and I'm trying to reduce the amount of text that the formula returns (say to Len=90 or what ever)

    =IF($C7="","",VLOOKUP($B7,'CS Incident Inport'!$A$11:$Z$500,14,TRUE))

I've tried to embed this into the vlookup, but without any luck

Any suggestions/thoughts/option would be much appreciated.

    Regard

Try using left() rather than Len()

Thanks Browni - will try that.

How would the formula look with left() embedded?

Not sure where it would fit.

    Hi Verda

    try this:
    =IF($C7="","",LEFT(VLOOKUP($B7,'CS Incident Inport'!$A$11:$Z$500,14,TRUE),90))
