    USB I/O Rate Troubleshooting

    Greetings,

I'm troubleshooting an issue with USB i/o rate and i/o variance.

I'm using an online app (JamKazam) to play music remotely with my fellow band mates. My network latency is very low (< 6msec) -- but there is apparently an issue with the i/o rate itself between the laptop and the USB audio interface device.

    My gear:

    • MSi GP60 laptop
    • Intel Core i5-4200M processor
    • 8GB DDRIII
    • 750GB hard disk
    • USB 3.0 and 2.0

I'm seeking suggestions for troubleshooting tools and processes in this situation.

    Thanks!

    Mike

    Welcome to the Lounge, Mike.

DPClat http://www.thesycon.de/eng/latency_check.shtml and LatencyMon http://www.resplendence.com/latencymon might be useful. Troubleshooting steps on these sites too.

    Maybe some of Uwe Sieber's tools http://www.uwe-sieber.de/misc_tools_e.html, Nir Sofer's http://www.uwe-sieber.de/english.html and Sysinternal's https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/...rnals/bb545027.

Not forgetting Windows Task Manager and Resource Monitor.

If it turns out to be a latency (DPC/ISR) issue, you might have to use xperf as a logger and get the log analysed: http://www.sysnative.com/forums/wind...a-7-8-a-3.html
