    Question New folders on C drive after refresh of windows 8.1 savings data

    Anyone know what to do with the new folders that appears on the C drive after refresh without affecting files? Folders are $SysReset and Windows.old. Neither contains much information.

    Windows.old -- I think that would be older OS files storage? I'm not sure w/W8.

    $Sysreset contains information useful to a forensic investigator and which is useless to everyone else. you can safely delete it. Windows.old is a backup file contaning your old windows data prior to the reset. If you don't need it, it can be safely deleted:
