    Google Update Triggers WinPatrol

I have WinPatrol running always. Every time I start up (or reboot) my machine WinPatrol warns me that Google update is adding itself to my startup process.

The two things I found in the Task Scheduler are

    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Update\GoogleUpdate.exe" /c
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Update\GoogleUpdate.exe" /ua /installsource scheduler

I tried disabling the tasks, and moving the command-lines to the startup folder, hoping that once I approved that change the warnings would stop.

    They didn't.

Any ideas how I can make WinPatrol see these as 'safe" and turn off the alarms?

    Regards,

    Chuck,

Doesn't the WP popup give you a button to Accept the change? I notice that every time I install new software (I usually uninstall the old version first) I get this popup and I just Approve or Reject and I don't get bothered again. HTH

Is this the free or fee version? There are more configurations/settings available with the pay-for version. And, both offer the Accept or Reject choice at almost all pop-ups.

To modify Google updater settings, I use Task Scheduler (in the Windows admin tools), rather than WP. I find Google Chrome's repeated, hourly checking for new versions just a bit too obsessive - by half.

    Guys,

I'm running the pro version. I'll double-check settings etc. and see if it continues then.

    Thanks,
    Chuck
