Customised Firefox doesn't show the sidebar with direct links: no sidebar or completely open

My Firefox is up to date, but it's been updated so many times I can't count. At some point I accidentally turned off the thin column/sidebar that shows icons for bookmarks, history, downloads, add ons, websites and browser information, and extensive page information. I thought this was part of the All-in-One Sidebar add-on, but I've tried changing every option related to the sidebar and nothing changes this. My only choices now are to close the sidebar (my default state) or to click on the left-most side of Firefox and have the sidebar open completely. That takes up a lot of space in my laptop, who's screen is only 10.5 inches across.

    Any ideas gratefully accepted!

    Installed add-ons:
    Adblock Plus
    All-in-One Sidebar
    BetterPrivacy
    Blur
    Disconnect
    Download Helper
    DuckDuckGo Plus
    HTTPS-Everywhere
    Lightbeam
    NoScript
    SSL Version Control

Sorry; this doesn't change anything. There was already a check beside the AiOS toolbar.

But it was a good idea. I'd completely forgotten to check that.
