    Hey Y'all,

    FYI: From the MB Website:
You may download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.1.4 by clicking here.

The new version is available for new downloads only at this time. We won’t be enabling updates for current customers until early next week (just in an effort to stagger the release). If you’re a current user and you want the update early, you’re always welcome to download and install the new version over any older version you’re running now.

Cool. I imagine the staggered release is more to let new/free users do some real-world bug testing before it's pushed out to paying clients.

I remember one recent update that didn't go as expected...

I got it (2.1.4.1018) and everything went well and is well. Nice new look. Installed it over the original.

    Hello lumpy95:

It is going to take a considerable amount of time to throttle out all the upgrades from the Malwarebytes' CDN servers.

If anyone would rather enjoy the benefits of the upgrade sooner, they may browse to the Malwarebytes portal webpage and download the authentic "Free" version which, despite the name on the button, will nicely upgrade a preexisting Professional or a Premium version to the latest release version.

    Thank you.

    Hello 1PW,
Thanks for the suggestion but I guess I'll just wait since all seems well on my computer for now.

Consider using https://ninite.com to update this and others.

As much as I really do support Ninite, and recommend it, I adhere to a higher level of rational paranoia.

In the case of something this critically important, I manually download (not install) from the author's/dev's highest level source of trust to the system's Administrator desktop.

Then I check its SHA-256 hash against the highest trust level source available to me. Do I always do this? Sadly, no. I let too many applications "self-update" or I let my A-V and MBAM2 do their on-access evaluations.

abelhadigital's MultiHasher, and its optional upload to VirusTotal, is a godsend for applications I consider that important.
All viruses are malware but not all malware are viruses and if the malware doesn't self replicate it just isn't a virus.
