I've had it for several days, didn't know I was on the Fast Ring until I looked in Windows Update, Advanced options section. It updated over 9926 on both machines. Just yesterday I downloaded the .iso files for both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. It seems to be pretty good, haven't had any problems yet.

Are you sure you have 10049? I haven't read anything about this build. It comes with the new Spartan browser. I had other commitments tonight so I haven't had a chance to play with it. It does seem to shut down almost instantly with an SSD.

Sorry, my response was supposed to be on a different forum for Win10, got pasted in the wrong window. 10049 actually downloaded and is awaiting install.

    Known Issues in Build 10049:

•If you have Virtual Machines hosted on your PC running Windows 10, you will want to move to the Slow ring and wait for the next build as this build breaks the ability to run VMs.

Umm, & yet, I am running it as VM. Came from WU on a Build 10041 VM so, still, a VM. Go figure...

So, hmmm, do I switch to Slow, one wonders...

Oh & good news, the Desktops are now dedicated... that's better, sensible.

    And it has SPARTAN!

    Cheers,

Have 10049 on a Desktop and now installing on a Notebook. Spartan wouldn't fully open when first tried but a few minutes later it did. My first impression of Spartan is much like I had with Chrome, way too 'clean' to fit my usual needs.

Spartan is a Universal app. Problems I have found.
When the Favorites bar is enabled, text is cut off at the bottom
Favorites bar items are listed alphabetically, no way to rearrange them
No way to edit or delete individual items from the Favorites bar
My Favorites bar is longer than what will fit across the screen, no way to access the extra items
Last Pass Tool bar is not supported
Java not supported (Many will consider this a plus)

Full list of Known issues with Build 10049:
•After logging in, you may see a blue screen instead of your desktop. To work around this issue, lock your PC (with the hardware button or by pressing the Windows Key + L) and try logging in again. You can also try Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
•Indexing of new email in Outlook is not working, so search results will be limited to when the last index was built.
•If you have Virtual Machines hosted on your PC running Windows 10, you will want to move to the Slow ring and wait for the next build as this build breaks the ability to run VMs.
•There are 2 issues using Visual Studio 2015 preview on this build: ◦The emulators will not boot and you won’t be able to deploy a Windows Universal app to the Mobile emulator.
◦The XAML designer in VS and Blend will crash when opened.
◦If you are a developer using these tools today to develop Windows Universal apps and need this functionality to work – we recommend switching to the Slow ring until we release a patch to fix these issues

Spartan is a big disappointment for me. Didn't take long to return to desktop browsers.

Yes, not very thrilling, right now. Or my expectations were too high, lol. I'm banking on it being more exciting, soon (I hope). Was a bit of a let-down

Plus, mine won't work anymore, either, anyway.

Since it is a Metro (Universal) app my expectations were pretty low and they fulfilled it.

I honestly hadn't realised it was (going to be) a UA. Ooops, silly me, thought is was a new web browser, the other kind, lol. The browser window kind, lol. Hence, the name browser window... instead get a UA that worked for a (little) while, now, will either show up for an instant & poof disappear or just show blue & its globe logo & poof, disappears, lol. Fat lot of good that does, lol. Oh well, the wonderful world of betas, geeesh. But, I sure was thinking... Somehow the demo in January, it seemed just SOOooo kewl. Funny that...

Maybe they should have waited a bit before offering a 'sample'. Might need an hour or 2 more work, me thinks.

Hey, maybe they had the finished product @ the demo & now, they are showing us (from) where they started... you know like photos along the way of car restorations; ya think?

    Oh, I do hope so...

    Cheers,
    Drew
