    Thank you retiredgeek!

I was disappointed to read the post a couple of months ago that said they were just getting started with Phase II after a 1 year delay. I am frankly stunned and a bit perplexed they were able to complete it on budget so fast. Phase II should have been a bitch I thought. Hadn't expected to hear from them for a year unless it was to beg for more money (that is not a knock, I thought their Phase II budget of $75,000 was unrealistically low).

This audit is for the true final version of Truecrypt 7.1a. Support ceased a year ago when the weird post from the mysterious author(s) and 7.2 (read only version) was posted.

If you continue or want to use Truecrypt 7.1a remember it is no longer supported so as it ages its stability and security will suffer as hardware changes and those noted holes are exploited. The open source continuation projects of Truecrypt have their own issues but are supported. They have not been audited.

Steve Gibson from GRC.com has an interesting take on the audit, and the four flaws that were found.

The section in his podcast transcript starts on page 19...
