    Bad penny buddy in PIDGIN

I am using PIDGIN as my chat client. One of my 'buddies' seems to be undeletable. I have removed him multiple times and he always pops back up in the buddy list a day or so later. Anyone else had this problem?

    Thanks,
    Ivan

These steps are from a Pidgin newsgroup (specific to Yahoo)...

    1. Exit Pidgin.
    2. Start Yahoo Messenger.
    3. Delete the Buddy.
    4. Notice error message.
    5. Exit Yahoo Messenger.
    6. Go into Yahoo Mail account.
    7. Click on "Contacts."
    8. Delete the buddy there.
    9. Exit Yahoo Mail.
    10. Restart Yahoo Messenger.
    11. Confirm Buddy gone.
    12. Exit Yahoo Messenger.
    13. Restart Pidgin.
    14. Confirm Buddy gone.

Thanks. I should have added information that the buddy was gmail, not Yahoo, but I didn't realize it was relevant. Any way to get rid of a gmail buddy who keeps returning?

I have tried to delete the buddy, which works for a while. Several of the times I have done this I have shut down before he comes back. When I bring the PC back up the next day the buddy reappears within an hour or so. Are you suggesting something different from this?
