Recommend a replacement for Secunia PSI

    Dear all,

After an increasingly exasperating time with Secunia's PSI, I've decided to abandon it.

Secunia are aware of a long running issue where Secunia locks up and will not scan a system, link is here:- http://secunia.com/community/forum/t...roblem_updated

I've about 6 PC's running Windows 7 64bit, and steadily all of these have stopped running PSI reliably.

Considering Secunia's inability to solve this, nor any reasonable expectation of a solution, they don't even know why it's stopped working, I need to replace PSI with an alternative solution.

Can any Forum members recommend a possible alternative I can try?

    Many thanks,
    Donchik

I never moved on from version 2, because I read of problems with later versions. Version 2 works fine on my W7 64 bit system, does not lock up, works as expected. Suggest you move back to V2 and try it again.

Software Informer might work for you. I have mine set to "on-demand."

So is W7. End of mainstream support was 13/1/2015. If there is a problem or incompatibility with PSI, its unlikely ever to be fixed. You could try FileHippo App Manager or Glarysoft Update Detector.
