Lightbulb Poor Neglected, Oft Forgotten Desktop Toolbar Adds Value

Some people, both inside & outside Microsoft, don't use or need a Start menu even if & when one exists. And, certainly, one can pin whatever one's heart desires to the Start menu and, there helpful Jumplists and things can be pinned to the Taskbar, as well; plus, there's the handy, dandy, "Users Menu". However, there is something else, in the OS, native to it (no 3rd Party add-on), that I suggest goes unnoticed but, adds huge value to the mix! Bonus, it allows not showing icons on the Desktop, too. It is the Desktop Toolbar. Whether one uses the Start menu or not but, especially if not using it... it allows for super-easy navigation, access & drilling down. Highly recommend it and feel it can be or become very much appreciated (by the End User).

    Desktop toolbar?

    Quaint.

I'd rather use my own toolbar, thankyou.

Drew, I think its time you dropped your monthly rants about the Start Menu. We all know how you feel about it by now.....

Desktop, Quick Launch and other folders added the Taskbar are not new with W10. Some go back well over a decade, from IE4 SP1, iirc.

    Clearly a Start Menu rant.

Not everyone can build their own. And just general info not directed @ anyone in particular.

Quite true. But, not everyone is aware that some things exist.

Sorry Drew, it looks like a camouflaged Start Menu dig to me, too. Is there so little left to say about W10 that you have to recycle this?

Please, enough of talk about Start menu. It is clearly needed for many users, or Microsoft wouldn't bring it back, after having removed it. Let's leave that well alone and focus on other things that are so much more relevant.

I emphatically agree. Might I also add that "3rd Party add-on" is user preference as well.
