Copy data from closed workbook if changes are made

    Hi,
Is there a way to copy certain cell values from a closed workbook to an open workbook when changes were made in a specific column in that closed workbook.
The cells to be copied are in the same row as the changed cell (from the closed workbook).

I don't know of it's clear enough but any suggestions are welcome

    Alexander

You can use vlookup to read the data in another spreadsheet even if it's not currently loaded - Excel will load it to read the data but not show the sheet on screen. Once you have the data you can perform a comparison in the open spreadsheet and change if required.
If you need more help just ask.

    cheers, Paul

    acraens,

Take a look here: http://www.vbaexpress.com/kb/getarticle.php?kb_id=832. Sounds almost identical to your needs with some minor tweeks.
