    Solitaire

This is maybe 'old news' by now so if you, already, are aware, no biggie...

A while back I saw notes from people upset about a loss of solitaire. Well, it IS going to be in Windows 10. There is a Solitaire Preview in Build 10061.

And there is this video thing about it, HERE.

    Cheers,
    Drew

The Sol.exe from Windows XP, the old original version, will run just fine on later versions of Windows, even W-10.

All that's required is to copy Sol.exe and Cards.dll from XP and put them in the root directory on Windows 10, then create a shortcut for Sol.exe to the desktop.

I really hated what MS did to my old favorite Sol.exe after Windows XP, so now I just take it with me, on my Utilities Disk, which I use when setting up any PC with any OS.

Windows 10, X86 will also run very old (25 yrs) 16 bit software & games. The OS will install a compatibility .dll file to run the old 16 bit software. The 64 bit versions will not do that.

So when talking about Solitaire, it's important to note just which version you're talking about. The old DOS/Windows version or the new/revised version that came out AFTER Windows XP. I hate the looks of the revised version, so I won't use it. I always use the older version.

Experience is truly the best teacher.

I recommend also copying the sol.hlp file. That way you get the internal Solitaire help functions as well.
