    Having trouble figuring out Many to One mail merge

    Below is the code that I am using. Was copied directly from the Microsoft site https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/294686#2. I then inserted the Merge Fields into the code.

    { IF { MERGESEQ } = "1" "{ «City»}
    " "" }{ SET Place1 { «City»}}
    { If { Place2 } <> { Place1 }
    { «City»}

    { «Employee»} { «Sales»}" "{ «Employee»} { «Sales»}" }{ SET Place2 { «City»}}

    Unfortunately, I am not getting a nice list. Instead, I see the following once I "Finish and Merge".

    { IF { MERGESEQ } = "1" "{ Atlanta }
    " "" }{ SET Place1 { Atlanta }}
    { If { Place2 } <> { Place1 }
    { Atlanta }

    { Henningsen } { 10000 }" "{ Henningsen } { 10000 }" }{ SET Place2 { Atlanta }}{ IF { MERGESEQ } = "1" "{ Atlanta }
    " "" }{ SET Place1 { Atlanta }}
    { If { Place2 } <> { Place1 }
    { Atlanta }

    { Delaney } { 50000 }" "{ Delaney } { 50000 }" }{ SET Place2 { Atlanta }}{ IF { MERGESEQ } = "1" "{ Atlanta }
    " "" }{ SET Place1 { Atlanta }}
    { If { Place2 } <> { Place1 }
    { Atlanta }

    { Galos } { 3000 }" "{ Galos } { 3000 }" }{ SET Place2 { Atlanta }}{ IF { MERGESEQ } = "1" "{ Houston }
    " "" }{ SET Place1 { Houston }}
    { If { Place2 } <> { Place1 }
    { Houston }

    { Pak } { 0 }" "{ Pak } { 0 }" }{ SET Place2 { Houston }}{ IF { MERGESEQ } = "1" "{ Houston }
    " "" }{ SET Place1 { Houston }}
    { If { Place2 } <> { Place1 }
    { Houston }

    { Kelly } { 9000 }" "{ Kelly } { 9000 }" }{ SET Place2 { Houston }}{ IF { MERGESEQ } = "1" "{ Houston }
    " "" }{ SET Place1 { Houston }}
    { If { Place2 } <> { Place1 }
    { Houston }

    { Johnson } { 8000 }" "{ Johnson } { 8000 }" }{ SET Place2 { Houston }}

    Any thoughts on what I may be doing wrong? I am on MS Office 2010. Thanks in advance for any assistance that will get me on the right track.

    Evidently, you've typed or copied & pasted the field braces. You can't do that. In any event, for a better set of fields to work with, check out my Microsoft Word Catalogue/Directory Mailmerge Tutorial at:
