See if this page from a year ago has help:
    http://www.geekonthepc.com/2010/10/1...als-2009-back/

Edit: I just saw on that page his link isn't working so as he says, finding a copy may be difficult. I checked my downloads archive and don't have it.

I still have the file on my hard drive in downloads for Windows Live 2009. I also found it online again, at FileHippo.com, by the way.

So, I am to uninstall all Windows Essentials, correct?

    Then I re-install the 2009 file, correct?

Will everything just fall into place as far as accounts, e-mails and respective folders, contacts and the contact groups, etc...?

Thx for everyone's help, in advance.

OK. After going thru hell, also with Toshiba, after running into tons of errors uninstalling all Windows Live Essentials 2011, I got it done. The Family something or other was the holdup. I finally got all 2011 gone. Now I get errors during the "preparing installer" for 2009. Almost like MS does not want it used and when the update shitcanned the 2009 I had and loved and updated to 2011, it also installed some block to the 2009 installer program??????????/

How do I now install 2009 again?? This took a day to get 2011 off. Error message was...Error 0x80040609 familysafety-amd64, Windows Essentials 2011.

Now the install error for 2009 is...Error OnCatalogResult 0x80190194 Please try installing Windows Live programs again. Next steps: Unknown error.

    Any suggestions?

    Thx

I have gotten rid of 2011 or 2012, whatever it was?? I maybe lost my contacts and e-mails since Dec 2014? That was likely last time I backed up or exported both contacts and e-mails, when I switched computers to this Windows 7 Professional machine. I still have the original download of Windows Live mail 2009 on my computer and found it elsewhere too.

Trying to install the same version which was downloaded on my laptop on 12-5-14 and it will NOT install!

PROBLEM IS THAT I GET ERRORS WHILE INSTALLING "PREPARING THE INSTALLER" IS IN PROCESS.

THEN IT SAYS..."COULDN'T INSTALL PROGRAMS. PLEASE TRY INSTALLING WINDOWS LIVE PROGRAMS AGAIN.
    ERROR 'OnCatalogResult: 0x80190194'
Next steps; an unknown error occurred"

I have gone thru the 2010 threads and others and still can't find a solution.

    Still need help.

    Thx

Yep...I don't open every link in every post, so sometimes I might post a duplicate.

Sort of how it goes sometimes...

I need to talk to Microsoft!! How do I do this? No one is answering or has answers on forums.

I have uninstalled G/Dm 2011 or 2012, whatever downloaded on my p/o/sht windows laptop and has totally screwed ME!

    I refuse to use 2011 or 2012.

I have the damn 2009 software. Just need it installed!!!!!!!!!!

I am tired of 4-5 years old solutions that people keep sending me to??

    Thx
