    RE-Installing Win XP

I need to reformat my hard drive (don't ask) that already has XP Pro installed. (this was an upgrade and not a system which had it already installed) I have of course the original CD as well as the older version of WIN. Will I be able to activate it as I have not changed the config at all nor the hardware. I do not want to get stuck over the holiday weekend without a computer at all.

Yes, you should have NO problems doing a clean install. During the install, the setup will ask where you Win98 or better is. Just insert the old CD and then tell setup where it is. Then replace it with the XP cd.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

As someone with (hopefully) limited experience with clean installing xp, the activation should be no problem. You will be asked to activate, but...for me anyway, it was accepted no problem
