Microsoft to stop producing Windows versions

Jerry Nixon, a Microsoft development executive, said in a conference speech this week that Windows 10 would be the "last version" of the dominant desktop software.

His comments were echoed by Microsoft which said it would update Windows in future in an "ongoing manner"....

That IS correct. This is why moving to Windows 10 AND more so, taking advantage of the 1st year offer is smart... because in the long run running Windows will be less costly for the End User since not having to (if one is so inclined) to buy a new OS periodically.

I don't really see Windows in 5 years being a setup followed by a gazillion updates. Let's wait and see how it plays out.

They better have an upgrade adviser to run before upgrading to Windows 10. MS better get busy fixing the existing bugs instead of shoveling in new features of dubious value.
