    apphelp.dll

    Win2k-SP2, IE6, O2k-SP1, etc, etc
The Add/Remove applet on my system is failing to load completely. Dependency Walker tells me APPHELP.DLL is missing.
Can anyone point me to where this file is available.
Google gives me some hits, but not where the file is to be found.
One message suggested reinstalling IE 6. I've checked the .cab files, but this file is not in those that were downloaded to install IE 6.
    All help appreciated!

    Re: apphelp.dll

Interesting. According to my set-up, apphelp.dll is a Windows XP file. Doing a search of all my drives (my system is triple boot for 98SE, 2kP and XPP) finds it only in the Windowssystem32 and Windowssystem32dllcache, which are XP directories. I cannot find it anywhere amongst the 2k files, nor on the disk.

    Re: apphelp.dll

So apphelp.dll is an XP file! Explains why it is not present on my W2k notebook, either. I have copied the appwiz.cpl file from that machine to this one, but that hasn't helped.
No doubt my (abortive) attempt to install Norton System Works 2002 caused the trouble. I haven't been able to locate apphelp.dll on the NSW CD. Probably hidden in one of the *.msi files, or a *.cab that Winzip is unable to open.
I'll see if I can get any help from Symantec.
