    Do you know [This Person]?

Lately I've been getting notices from Facebook asking me if I know So and So. These are annoying. I went through my settings and can't seem to find anyway to turn that off. Anyone know?

    Thanks
    Thanks John

I get a couple every week and seems they are being sent by someone who wants me to Friend those on the list, I just delete them. Might have to disable the E-Mail notifications or log out of Facebook to stop them.

I get tons of them on an old yahoo account that I have kept as a secondary for years. They are spam/phishing/porno crap. As fast as I block them they invent a new address to send from, so I just delete them.
I don't use FACEBOOK or ANY social media sites, only forums.

"click on unsubscribe" is not a solution, it's an invitation to spam me some more!!!
Clicking unsubscribe on spam only tells the spammer that you exist and are happy to click email links, thus you are a target.

You should take that up with Facebook.

Sure it is, I use it frequently--sign up, evaluate, unsub.

Of course, using an ISP which eliminates almost all spam makes this easier to do in practice. I can see how using a dud email ISP would make it tiresome to separate legit orgs from spammers.

It seems Facebook are more into info collection rather than spamming, so should be safe to unsub from. Besides, don't they already have your email address anyway?

It's not a solution to spam. It is a solution to email that you have "effectively" subscribed to, such as an evaluation.

    cheers, Paul

many of the [do you know...] notices I get from FB are because some of my Friends have that person as a Friend. If you have numerous friends, the Six Degrees of Separation means you could potentially be linked to every FB user. I usually don't follow friends of friends, so I just ignore the list. There do seem to be a large number of random people I never heard of. Presumably they saw one of my comments or likes, and tried to open a dialogue with me. I ignore them. Every once in a while I scan it, and very occasionally will find someone I'd like to contact. I do NOT get email notifications; turned that off long ago.
