Well Drew, I guess that fix is for a specific 0xD1 bugcheck, would you mind telling us more? Perhaps the KB# for your fix?

    I am puzzled.

    "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" is a driver error.

How can changing the boot settings to "LEGACY" have any effect on Windows drivers?

How to access safe mode instructions copied from Tom's Hardware: How Do I Fix IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL Error in Windows 8?

    Also posted to:

    BleepingComputer.com: Drive_IRQL_not_less_or_equal FIX

    and Microsoft Community: Driver_IRQL_not_less_or_equal FIX

But the important paragraph was omitted:

Your most likely route will be to manually uninstall the offending device driver or application, and for that you'll need to get into safe mode. To get there, you'll need to enable the legacy advanced boot menu.

Looking at that 'tutorial' page, slimcleaner is way more likely to remove most of the data required to pin down the cause of that particular BSOD than it is to 'fix' it! It defaults to offering to remove memory dumps, log files, histories, ... useless - no, in this instance, worse than useless, it's damaging the chances of getting a relatively fast, accurate fix.

It's shown running in a clean VM - it's a blatant advert, no real world value at all.
