Calculate timesheet and convert (Excel 97 sr2)

I want to create a timesheet to calculate hours. I want the user to be able to enter times without having to convert anything .. just type 11:30 am or 4:00 pm. And, then I want to have a cell that calculates the time worked that day, but instead of having it display 7:30 hours, I want it to show 7.50 hours.

Re: Calculate timesheet and convert (Excel 97 sr2)

You should be able to enter 11:30 am in cell A1 and 4:00 pm in cell B1 and they should be accepted as times. To calculate the difference you would use the formula:

=(B1-A1)*24

Then format the cell containing that formula as a number with two decimal places and it should display 4.50.
