NS (Norton Security) vs NIS (Norton Internet Security)-- should I upgrade

I have been using NIS for a few years and I've been pleased with this. I recently got an offer from Norton to upgrade to NS for $19.95.
Is it worth doing? They said I can install it over NIS and my days remaining (107) will be added to my 1-year NS subscription. I'm wondering how our users here in the Lounge have been fairing with NS.

    I have a laptop with W7 Home

The current product for 2015 is now called Norton Security (3 versions) instead of Norton Internet Security.

I would want to know which one they are offering.

That offer seems fairly cheap, but renewing online from the Antivirus Manufacturer usually costs $LotsMore than buying it from scratch again from Amazon (other fine retailers of antivirus software are available!).

A good method is often to buy a cheaper, older, version of the software because all that's needed is the Product Code (or whatever it's called), and that simply gets you another year of the current software (which you may have to download from their website).

It says Norton Security-- 1 yr. protection for up to 5 devices.

I'm still reluctant to change from NIS, which seems to be working well and still getting updates

I'm on my last year of Norton 360 which is now defunct as to any new editions so I'll be moving on to Norton Security in a little over 160 days.

To find the pros and cons of NIS vs NS you could phone Symantec Support to see what NS will give you. http://www.symantec.com/about/profile/contact.jsp

Not sure if that is a Toll Free number as we have in the UK.
