    MS Disabled logon / off sounds?

    I had found and posted a way to enable the logon and off events in the Media applet. Basically it was / is

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\AppEvents\EventLabels\WindowsLog off]
    @="Windows Logoff"
    "DispFileName"="@mmres.dll,-5852"
    "ExcludeFromCPL"=dword:00000000

    Now though, it doesn't seem to work, and I read elsewhere that MS hardcoded the events to not sound. Is this true, and if so, why?

    If it is true (and I do not know that it is or isn't true) then it is a design decision.

    Seems strange, since all the other sounds are seemingly there. Ah well...

    Thanks Joe.
