    Amazon's Kindle app for PCs

Question about trust worthiness of Amazon's Kindle App for PCs to read books or can they be converted to ePub, PDF, DOC, et ceteras . .

Also are there any 'secret' adware with this install?

    "Joe,"

This is a very rare short, to the point, NO advertisements, reply. I do LIKE this type of answer, not necessarily a negative reply, but; this is what I was hoping for, to this inquiry.

    THANK YOU!

You do realize that because is Amazon you will get their advertising in the app similarly to the Kindle? It is separate from your books in the "kindle store" section but you don't have to look at it.

No, was not aware of this, but; not a problem as I do much reading and may from time to time view that for some reading material. This does not change anything about your assistance with my question, some ads are needed for funds to cover expenses.

Your JOB with this issue is DONE, now you need to get back to work.

I don't get steps rate Amazon ads either in my wife's Kindle or in my Kindle app for my IPad. We did have to pay more for the Kindle to be ad free it it was worth it to us.

    Jerry,

I got a Kindle as a promotional item for some webinar or survey. I'm sure it is the "ads included" version. I guess that is why I see ads.

There's about a $30 difference between the ad supported and the ad free Kindle White Paper models if I recall correctly. I was surprised the Kindle IPad app is ad free.

That is probably because of the crazy percentage that Apple gets for purchases within apps.

For some reason I only see books not magazines in my Kindle for PC app (I have it installed but don't use it very much). When I go to the amazon website to manage my Kindle the Kindle for PC is greyed out for magazines.

Are there any other "apps" made for PC's? I see apps galore for smartphones and ipads. I'm not talking about Antivirus, Antimalware, or Antispam software. I think this is probably the most appropriate thread to ask this question. Thanks.

Okay, so antivirus, antimalware, email, browsers, tax prep. software, MS Office, and maybe a few games, and that's about it. I don't even see astronomy software advertised anymore. Or does one have to go searching all over the Internet for PC software nowadays? Oh, I forgot they don't put programs on CD's or DVD's anymore. You have to download them after you've searched high and low.
