    Check Disk Problem

How do I stop check disk running automatically every time I reboot? It runs on 2 disks and finds no problems.

This article should help, but have you checked to see if it's reporting any bad clusters ?

Thanks Sudo, I have checked and there are no bad clusters.

Having said that the problem disappeared as mysteriously as it started. However, when I tried to save the reg file from your link I was told I do not have permission to save the file to the folder I chose, which is the folder I always save this type of file in, or any installation file, and I have never had this problem before. I can open the folder and run any of the installers, and the problem has only occurred with this particular download. Any ideas?

Try downloading it to your Desktop.

Right-click on the downloaded .reg file, select Properties, and click "Unblock".

Create a System Restore point (since you are changing the registry).

Merge the .reg file into the registry.

I assume you are talking about the batch file ?

If the problem has gone away then I wouldn't try to fix what isn't broken.

Does Event Viewer have anything recorded for the anomaly ?

Option #2 in the SevenForums article contains a download for a .reg file.

Can you create a new file in that folder?
Can you modify / delete files in that folder?
Have you checked the permissions on that folder - right click, Properties, Security?

    cheers, Paul
