Move file from One folder to another

I have code to move data from one folder to another which Zeddy kindly supplied the code a long time ago, which I have slighttly adapted to suit my needs. However, I need to amend the code to delete the files in the source folder i.e C:\Vat Reports after moving the files

It would be appreciated if someone can kindly assist me in resolving this

Send Zeddy a PM. He/she is still active on the forums.

    JWoods & Howard,

You should not PM members for personal help per the Lounge rules. You should wait for an answer in the forum, it may or may not be the person who solved the original problem but that is not the issue the issue is that all Lounge members should have the benefit of the answer.

    Hi Howard

I looked at the code I did previously, tested it, and checked that it does move the files from one folder to another. So after moving, there should be no files to delete.

Are you perhaps using another version, which copies files between folders????
If a file is copied, then it will be left in the source folder.

Anyway, I have attached an update of the Move Files tool just in case.
This is in Excel2003 format, but can be used in later versions too.

My thinking was the best person to solve it was the person who wrote the code.

    Hi jwoods

    ..cannot fault your thinking.
..but RG makes a valid point about sharing help with everyone.
..and I like seeing how other contributors tackle the same question raised, as we all learn something.

    Got RG's point, thanks.

On some support sites, that approach is allowed, with the stipulation that the solution is posted.
