how to get the count of passed rows and display in summarysheet

I have an excel with 2 tabs. 1st sheet is the summary and the second one has all actual steps. I have around 120 test cases in the sheet2 and would like to somehow figure out based on the values in sheet 2 for PASS and Fail, I need to update the summary sheet (I need to update the number of pass fail count). Can you help me out how this could be done in excel 2010.

Welcome to the Lounge as a new poster!

Could you possibly post a test workbook for us to work on?

    testking,

If your "Pass/Fail" are all in one column on sheet2, you can give the column a named range (ex. Score for the range =Sheet2!$E$2:$E$20). Then on sheet 1, use the formulas:

    =COUNTIF(Score,"Pass")
    =COUNTIF(Score,"Fail")
