    Optional Silverlight Windows Update

On my son's Windows 7 HP laptop, Silverlight is always showing up as an Optional update even after hiding it
Is there a way to stop/hide it permanently?

Is it still showing up after installing it ?

I think this one http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/downl....aspx?id=43687 was released in Jan this year to iron out some bugs.

Silverlight is part of Windows Essentials but I just have it installed on its own because my online banking uses it and some MS sites can be difficult to get to if the version is out of date.

"Silverlight is part of Windows Essentials"
I believe he does have Windows Essentials, so I suspect Silverlight should be allowed to update

Yes, if it's used, it needs to be kept updated and secure.
