    CCLEANER safe

I have used Ace Utilities for cleaning purposes. This morning I got the WS letter about ccleaner. I did a cleaning with Ace utility and it cleaned/deleted 8mb. I then downloaded and installed ccleaner and analyzed disc and it came up with 749mb to remove.

I have no problems and wondering how safe this is to use.

IMHO Ccleaner is the best remover of un-needed files.
It does empty the recycle bin, so check for files you didn't mean to delete before running Ccleaner.
Ccleaner also has a Registry Cleaner: although it is among the mildest of these I always advise against Registry cleaning unless you have specific symptoms and anyway in that case you are better off dealing with the specific symptoms rather than getting out the blunderbuss.

    NBB,

I've used and recommended CCleaner for years and I've never had a problem with it. Of course YMMV! HTH

Well I just did a clean and only mistake was I left Firefox on and I will have to do some re-logging in but not a big deal. I do like the layout has font size that I can read easily.

Of the 749 MB to remove, Ccleaner would have shown you a list of the various components it wanted to remove, e.g. recycle bin, temporary internet files, etc. Then you can right-click on any item in the list, to view the detailed results. If you are not happy with what Ccleaner wants to remove, just uncheck that item in the list on the left of the screen.
