    Can't find how to set a pale desktop background

    I'm pretty sure I must have missed something somewhere, but even in the latest TH1 build of Windows 10 I am only offered a small number of dark backgrounds for the desktop. I usually set the background to a very pale cyan.

    Any ideas how to achieve the most important objective in Windows 10 testing?!

    I managed to work it out using ColorPic to find what my current background was, then searching the registry for those values in both hex and decimal. Eventually I found the value in HKCU\Control Panel\Colors value Background and set it to 230 255 255

    Surely there must be a better and more permanent way?

    I just did a google images search on "very pale cyan desktop background" and came up with a lot of hits. You could download one of those.

    BATcher,

    To set a solid color:
    1. Settings
    2. Personalization
    3. Background -> Solid Color
    4. Pick your color (very limited selection)

    Hi RG - did you properly read my original post?!

    "...even in the latest TH1 build of Windows 10 I am only offered a small number of dark backgrounds for the desktop. I usually set the background to a very pale cyan."

    BATcher,

    Ok as penitence for the error of my ways I've written you a small PowerShell script that will let you use a color picker to set your background color.

    Same here, RG. I just tried your color picker and it worked like a charm. Good Job! Many, many thanx.

    Very nice what 'RG' did! By default it's either Rt Clk Desktop > Personalize > Colours OR Settings > Personalization > Colours. Either arrive @ a colour picker.
