Custom Templates (Word 2000)

I have been using Word97 for a long time and I've developed quite a number of custom templates, not to mention the ones from Maximizer, which I also use. I used to be able to create subfolders under the main Template folder and they would all show up as tabs when I clicked on the New Office Document icon. In Office2000 this does not happen.

How can I set up Office/Word2000 to recognize all my template folders?

Probably your templates are there, but crowded into the More... tab. To get rid of the other tabs and make more space for your own, you access the Office installer through Add/Remove Programs... and uninstall the default templates. Hi,

Take a look at Template Basics (addbalance.com/usersguide/templates.htm) for information on the different kinds of templates, where they are stored, and how to get them to show up under the File => New dialog.

BINGO! That did it. Thanks a bunch.

Also Chas had the right info in a somewhat lengthier version -- good reading. Thanks, both of you.
