    7-Zip zipped files look like Notepad files

    I am using 7-zip to zip my files , but when zipped they look like notepad files even though they have a .zip extension

    I would like to know how I can overcome this

    I would like someone to kindly advise me

    It sounds like .zip files have somehow been associated with Notepad on your system.

    You should get some ideas to change the association from the below screenshot (Win7):
