    Lightbulb Being Ready.

    Just a reminder:

Windows Insiders begin receiving Windows 10 in just 2 more days on July 29th. Then all those who smartly did the Reserve thing.

Anyway, before migrating a prior OS to Windows, please, remember to do the following...

Make sure the OS is clean, healthy, clear of any unwanted, unneeded stuff and fully up-to-date including WU.

MOST important. A complete system backup (preferably an image backup) before beginning the upgrade process.

JoeP, might I modify this line of your :

    >>> MOST important. A complete system backup (preferably a clone) before beginning the upgrade process.<<<

Getting back to operation is so straight forward.

    All best wishes Jean.

Yes, Joe, thanks... I should have included, BACKUP everything & make a System Image. But, don't let us telling that cause paranoia, it's just prudent.

    Good morning Drew.
About being ready now. I have a G-41 Thinkpad running W-7, SP-1. I have all the WUs done and no small white Windows ever in the notification area. But, and a big BUT, I had a look at System32 and GWX.exe is there with a full array of files. Somehow, it snuck by me. Now to find out what to do when tomorrow comes along ? Will there be a prompt to click that .exe ?
Today, going to the boonies again, fear not, I will be connected. All best wishes. Jean.
