    should I update to win10?

I have a Win7 Pro 32 that is 5+ years old. Should I update it to Win 10? There are times it acts like it is getting old, but I assume some update or quirk is causing this as it usually recovers. It will take forever to open my email or if I want to close the browser clicking the X is like doing nothing. As I said it will recover on its own. Maybe it is in the process of installing updates or something else that is causing this. confused:

If W7 is buggy, do a clean install and a full update before attempting to upgrade it to W10.

Check your installation for viruses and malware.
Run System File Checker (sfc /scannow).
How much free space do you have on your hard disk? Have you run Disk Cleanup?
Run Task Manager and see what programs are using lots of CPU and memory.
Also check Page File use (wmic pagefile).

    cheers, Paul

When you are using the browser, and it won't respond, it usually means that you are on a site where advertisers are running a lot of script files. It doesn't have to be the tab that is open, and that you are looking at. If you ever have a site pop up an advertisers video, that is a good candidate to close, and see if that improves the performance of the browser, and the performance of the PC. I have started using NoScript on Firefox, and it helps a lot with certain news sites that have a lot of advertisers.
