What happens to existing User Accounts during the Win 10 upgrade?

Everyone tells us that the Upgrade will prompt you for a user login. Ok - but what happens to all of your existing Windows 7 user accounts? I have admin and regular accounts that I want to keep using, and I MAY choose to connect one to my Microsoft account. Also, I've noticed that file sharing between PC's works a lot better when you keep user names consistent from PC to PC on a network, another reason why I don't want to change usernames.

User accounts are included in the upgrade.

So when the upgrade reaches the create an account step one really needs to do nothing? All user and admin accounts will get carried over?

JoeP517 - running Win7, my wife's Toshiba laptop had an admin account (mine) and a user account (hers). We were presented the standard user options to log into it. When I let Win10 upgrade, I was taken straight back into my admin account and saw no evidence of her user account. Did I miss something, or did the upgrade fail to carry over the user account?

Check Settings > Accounts > family and other Users to see if it is listed there.

Also, try clicking on the Start icon and right click on Your account at the top to see if its listed there.

When I upgraded my wife's system (8.1 pro), all accounts were kept. My admin account, her admin account and the kid's non-admin.
the first time I logged in I only saw my account, but when I logged off and singed in again all 3 accounts were there.

Sounds good. I'm also wondering if I can link my admin account to my MS login but still login to the PC normally.
